A beautiful antique R&C Bavaria porcelain vase, dating to approximately 1891–1906, featuring an elegant hand-painted arrangement of purple irises against a soft green ground.
The underside bears the early R&C Bavaria crown and crossed-mark backstamp, associated with Rosenthal & Co. of Bavaria, Germany. Comparable references date this form of R&C marking to the late 19th/early 20th century.
The vase is decorated with large purple and lavender iris blossoms, yellow highlights, and sweeping green foliage. The softly shaded painting and tall, graceful form give it the character of turn-of-the-century European decorative porcelain.
